Your training contract
Support network
We believe that it is good to have people to talk to and bounce ideas off, so we have several levels of support in place.
Buddies
Your buddy will be someone from the year above to take you for a sandwich, tell you the gossip and take you to the pub.
Mentor
Each trainee has a mentor partner to give you pointers and, of course, to take you for a nice lunch from time to time.
Supervisors
You will sit with a supervisor who monitors your day to day work. Your supervisor may be an associate or a partner. We believe you get a different type of experience sitting with partners or associates and aim to ensure you get a chance to experience both.
Trainee partner
You will regularly discuss your progress with a trainee partner who knows about your practice area. He/she can deal with any immediate issues and will help monitor your work flow.
Trainee committee
We want to make sure you have a voice during your training contract so we have a trainee committee which meets quarterly. Each trainee year has an elected representative.
Trainee principal
You will meet Helen regularly to discuss your progress. She oversees all aspects of your training and pastoral care and is happy to chat through any concerns. She is assisted by Sarah Warnes who deals with many of the day to day aspects of the training contract and recruitment. Helen and Sarah actively encourage trainees' input on ways to improve the firm's approach to its trainees and their training.
